COMMUNISM PEAK EXPEDITION

ComunismuluiCOMMUNISM PEAK EXPEDITION
(27-day variant Dushanbe – Dushanbe, Normal Route from North via Borodkin Rib)

Communism Peak (7495 m) is the highest mountain of the former Soviet Union. This huge massif is located in the intersection of two mountain ranges – the Range of Peter the Great and the Range of the Academy of Sciences – in the North-West Pamirs, Tadjikistan. The other very high mountain – Kozhenevskaya Peak (7105 m) – is located about 12 km to the North from Communism Peak.

The most popular climbing route is from the North, along the Borodkin Rib, the Great Pamirs Snow Plateau and via Dushanbe Peak (6950 m). This easiest route is very long and hard because of technical difficulties, very high altitude and variable weather conditions. For the successful ascent of Communism Peak mountaineers should be in very good physical conditions, well acclimatized and have a very good climbing experience.
