(32-day variant Bishkek – Bishkek, Normal Route along West Ridge from North)

Pobeda Peak (7439 m) is the highest mountain in Tien-Shan. Its massive dome, covered in snow and ice, located on the Kyrgyzstan – China border. Pobeda Peak is the northernmost 7000-m peak in the world, all climbing routes are very difficult and dangerous. The weather conditions during climbs are extremely rough: the rare days with good weather are separated by long periods of bad weather in which the strong icy wind often buffets the mountain, making it impossible to climb.

Period of the programme: July – August

day 1 – arrival in Bishkek (in the morning); drive to the Issyk-Kul Lake Camp; yurt accommodation; (L, D)
day 2 – drive to the Maidadyr Camp (about 2500 m); tent accommodation; (B, L, D)
day 3 – helicopter flight to the South Inylchek Base Camp; accommodation at Base Camp (about 4000 m); (B, L, D)
day 4 – acclimatization walk around the Base Camp area; (B, L, D)
day 5 – Base Camp – Camp 1 (4400 m); (B)
day 6 – climbing the icefall and fixing the ropes
day 7 – Camp 1 – Camp 2 (5300 m) on the Dikiy Pass, making snow caves
day 8 – Camp 2 – Camp 3 (5800 m), making snow caves
day 9 – Camp 3 – Base Camp; (D)
day 10 – rest day; (B, L, D)
day 11 – rest day; (B, L, D)
day 12 – Base Camp – Camp 1; (B)
day 13 – Camp 1 – Camp 3
day 14 – Camp 3 – Camp 4 (6500 m)
day 15 – Camp 4 – Camp 5 (6900 m) near the top of Vazha Pshavela (Western Pobeda), making snow caves
day 16 – Camp 5 – Camp 2

  • All necessary permits and formalities for Kyrgyzstan: Kyrgyz visa invitations, registration in Kyrgyzstan, permits to enter the border region
